When my husband and I bought a house, I was so excited to host a holiday. I didn’t want to get too far in over my head, so I chose Christmas Eve. I figured my family had no real traditions for that day, so there wouldn’t be any real expectations, and maybe we could do something that was simple with just appetizers. It would be more than enough to make into a full meal, just easier things to put together and people would be able to just graze.
I was reading an email that had a link to holiday appetizer recipes for a party. I was obviously intrigued by this. I picked some recipes that looked good to me that I thought my family would enjoy. Naturally, this led to more online research about different appetizer recipes.
I stumbled onto a blog about holiday parties made easier with a food processor. I was pretty impressed by what I found. I compiled a good amount of recipes from there and continued on with my research. Now I was looking for appetizers that I could make specifically with my food processor. Why not try to make it easier?
A lot of making appetizers are the little things that you have to do before putting them together. The cutting, the mixing, and so on. The only thing you really can’t do with the food processor is use it for the final assembly in most cases.
I decided to take stock of what I had in terms of blades and other parts of my Cuisinart food processor. I figured it might be a wise choice to be prepared, especially since I was hosting a holiday for other people who were expecting things from me.
In my search I found KitchenWorksInc and found out that they sell actual Cuisinart-dfp-14 parts. I was in luck. I ordered extras of everything just in case: work bowls, all kinds of blades, a dough blade, and I even ordered a spatula to help me out.
Not to brag, but Christmas Eve was probably better than Christmas itself. It was so much more mellow and laid back with the appetizers. There was the perfect amount of variety, and the perfect amount of food to basically be a full meal. Everyone was really happy.
I’m so thankful that I found these recipes to use with my Cuisinart food processor and I think it’s so awesome that I have a place to get replacement parts too! All of this has definitely made my life a lot easier.
